Skills Relevant in AI ERA

In 18th century with the start of industrialization, physical labor based jobs were eliminated and mechanical machines took over and acted as physical strength multiplier.

When the dot.com era came at start of 21st century, all the memory based tasks like data keeping and retrieval were automated. Furthermore, data processing also started and developed to a level of providing service through technology in form of various ecommerce platforms. The jobs of book keeping and providing services through direct interaction were so eliminated.

Now starting of this new decade AI is coming and I see freaking articles here and there lauding about it will take over all jobs. Even google has written its AI that can write its own code. In short if your job can be coded in form of an algorithm (rule based) and requires incremental improvements and learning then AI can do it better, It Is Gone. Do not worry about sensory attributes, we have sensors, image processing and speech detection.

Below are some of the skills that can be part of any job function, that might not become irrelevant till AI reaches Singularity.

Imagination/Day Dreaming:- If you turn to any high performance individual from Tesla to Einstein they all had quality of day dreaming through mental pictures. Some of them can even perform actions in their photographic memory. Even cyclic structure of Benzene came up in a dream. Though AI would have power to deliver or create high end graphics but still they cannot day dream, maybe if we apply fractal algorithm on data and remove dead end output than something like day dreaming can be achieved but still it is far away. So sleep hard and keep dreaming :) .

Pattern Finding:- AI so hyped about basically is nothing other than models made first based on Mathematical Equations, made finer through early data training and afterward keep learning through feedback loop. They can correct their model frequently and develop new skills and learn. For moving current businesses to AI, making models, algorithms, finding application of AI, designing feedback loop needs pattern finding skill.

Conceptualization:- Taking patterns and all variables involved and making a idea with core basics and fundamentals come in to Conceptualization. As content is not the problem in this era, getting in to fundamental is not habit of all. “What” is irrelevant in this era but “how” counts now. Humans are so versed in doing this as they are highly curious at right abstract level. Imagine we code AI for curiosity and it starts asking why after each statements, so irritating.

Context Intelligence: — Although this is more called as EQ but I think AI can perform better on EQ than humans as they can act at superficial level in a better way. But finding context and intention is tricky. Imagine an AI coded for for sales trying to push customer unaware of context/intention/situation of customer it is not coded for, that could blow the sale up and make customer angry.

Observation: — As AI would be busy in performing targeted tasks and their processors would be preoccupied running according to their own model, very less chance of them observing random variables which they are not coded for.

Spiritual Intelligence: — Levelling up consciousness and tuning it with cosmos can only be done by Humans. Rituals are not Spirituality, (Rituals : Spirituality :: Watching food in 3D : Having Food). I doubt if AI can ever understand Spirituality. Even All Humans Don’t.
